08-10-2020 Tampa to Atlanta

Wow!  I’m actually traveling!!  As much as I love driving, it wasn’t too bad!  There were a few moments, like when the first disk of my mystery book started skipping fifteen minutes into the story!  But the other disks were fine and since I don’t know what I missed, I won’t worry about it!  And there was a little rain for about twenty minutes;  but it wasn’t torrential.  And then there was the little slip up when I-75 and I-85 split and I made the wrong choice.  But that’s what Waze is for, and my arrival was only a few minutes later than I had planned!

Since Ginger and I are both officially “negative” and Andy and Nick haven’t been around anybody else for ages, I got hugs all around!  And pizza, wings, and salad for dinner!!  Life is good.

Is this not the coolest thing to do with a decorative plate?  Ginger
is just so darn clever!!
Ginger is doing her Emerson Board meeting by Zoom while I blog and catch up on the day’s email.  Later we’ll make reservations in Paducah so we don’t have to fool with registration when we get there.  The plan is to leave early enough to see the National Quilt Museum tomorrow afternoon and leave for Iowa fairly early the next morning.  Bonnie has sent us the map to her campground and her cell number, so everything is pretty well in hand!

    I assume Ginger didn't deliberately break the plate in order to decorate her pot!

      You were SO right! Not many people are traveling; but now that we've done it, I feel much more sanguine about it. Few people and lots of safety precautions...

It’s an easy going morning.   We don’t even think about breakfast until after ten.   I’m catching up on the blog and Ginger and Bonnie are having a continuation of the on-going political discussion.   I manage to keep up and occasionally add a comment.   Ginger slices up two of the peaches we bought, since it turns out Bonnie is not a peach fan and we’re going to have to take them with us when we leave. I get good news from my dear friend, Jackie!   She is going home from her surgery on Sunday!   That’ s my second great message!   I was able to finally get a message from Brandy on Thursday that Marilyn’s surgery was perfect and yesterday she told me that she was home and didn’t need any pain meds!!   Hurray!!!   Here’s a bit of bizarreness! My phone has thought for several days that it is tomorrow!!  Each day!!  So today it tells me that it’s Sunday, the 16 th , and that all my emails are from yesterday!  Turning it off and on doesn’t help.  I have finally found the place in settings w

08-14-2020 Pella, Iowa

The mornings have developed a rhythm.   I’m the early riser (stop laughing!) and have time to do my yoga and morning stuff before Ginger and Bonnie are awake.   There’s no rush, so we all have morning beverages and we put away our really big bed and restore it to it’s daytime, couch appearance.   That’s an amazing process.   It doesn’t exactly pull out and up like a normal hide-a-bed.   Instead the front part pulls forward, then pops up.   Then you push a button and the seat slides forward and the back slides down !   It’s much harder to describe than it is to do!   Anyway, soon we’re ready for breakfast.   Ginger and I have been having her banana bread with cream cheese and Bonnie tends to favor yogurt and granola.   We clear the table, clean up the kitchen and head out for the day.   We’re going back to Pella eventually;  but we head out in a different direction to see some new sights.  Our first stop is Lake Red Rock.
