The Drury Hotel is pretty wonderful.   They require face masks every time you go outside of your room and they have coffee available in the lobby twenty-four hours a day.   We head down the hall for breakfast and follow the arrows into the dining area.   There is a menu posted on the wall and the server behind plexiglass will put anything you request into a styrofoam container. There are scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage patties, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt and blueberry muffins.   In another section there are containers of prepackaged cereals and individual bottles of milk. This is a quilt!  After all, it is Paducah! We take our breakfasts back to our room and watch Emerson’s Water Communion service on YouTube.   Rev. Deborah is such a joy to listen to.   Her sermon is touching and smart and even funny!   She covers so many topics and weaves them together flawlessly.   And we’re off…We really are just planning on getting back to A...

Alas and alack, it’s time to live Bonnie and the RV life.   We have Jaarsma Bakery coffee cake, pack up our “old kit bags” and head out.   There are hot air balloons passing over head as a final salute!     It will take us two days to get back to Atlanta and as we’re heading for the interstate we realize that we never took the “tourist” photos of the cornfields!   We’ve passed a zillion easy opportunities over the past several days;   but now that we are ready to do it, do you think we can find an accessible field without a fence and close to the road?   Of course not!   We figure that any side road will do, so we pick one and find…nothing but soybeans!   After a hearty giggle, we finally just get on the interstate and get off   at the Pella exit.   We find a field, but have to walk quite a bit off the road to actually get to the stupid corn!   On our way again.  We’re heading to Iowa City to have lunch with Ginger’s frien...

Another easy morning.   It’s so cool how easily we all fall into a rhythm and function around one another.   Today Ginger and I will be going back into Pella while Bonnie stays home and makes reservations, reviews a paper that friends want to submit for publication, and takes care of all those things that pile up when you have company.   We head into Pella around ten and Ginger checks with her friend, Connie, to be sure that will work for her.   It does, and Ginger drops me off at the Pella Public Library , the Bibliotheek.   I settle into the same spot I had the last time and begin catching up the blog.   I work away, quite happily, until Ginger texts me to see if I’m ready for a break.   Indeed I am!   We walk across the street and down the block to the Liberty Street Kitchen.  It is the restaurant of the Royal Amsterdam Hotel.  We have a great table outside under a canopy and the menu is full of good choices.  We start off by agr...
